Strange spelling today. Brigette should be spelled Brigitte and Wikipedia says she was 18 when she started working on the fìlm, rather than 16. Also, Joh Fredersen should not be spelled Frederon, as far as I can see. That’s just weird.
Actually two of her relatives date guys with capes, both Lois and Margo. (At least Margo did on radio. Not in the pulps. I don’t remember the comic books by Street and Smith or the syndicated comic strip or the movie serials. The modern movie I’ve managed to repress from my memory.)
2-…Does anyone ever grab those horns and ride you like a bucking bronco?
3-HANDLES: Well, they are an important aspect of a moon maiden’s erogenous zone. In fact, the little zaps of energy you see emanating from them is an indication that I’m, ummm, let’s just say, warming up to the idea.
BARBER: Like your dress isn’t a big enough hint? TRAMP!
HANDLES: GOLD DIGGER!
BARBER: Can I get you more gin? I believe I’ll have another glass. HANDLES: Yes, please.
Back in 1927, newspapers were looser with the facts than a castor oiled goose. They could not agree where Lindberg was born, and none of them had the gumption to try to call him and ask him where and when he was born. Back then newspapers were an entertainment not a fact source.
Poor spelling and dubious arithmetic aside, the parallels with Metropolis that are being set up are clearly enough intended to play some part in the development of this story’s plot (insofar as it has one: I am ever doubtful of Mike’s “writing on the run” approach, as is perhaps necessary for a daily strip that is one job among several concurrently; a script pre-prepared and developed through to the finish would be ideally preferable). I imagine some kind of confrontation between Mysta and Roboto will occur at some point (and hence it seems probable that the Patterson box office will become one of his targets)….

And we’re “very much so” excited to see you play that role, my dear, especially if it’s part of a great DT story.

it seem obvious Mr Roboto is going to get caught up in the metropolis imagery.

According to IMDb, Brigitte Helm was born in 1906, so she would have been 20 or 21 when she played the role.

Folks expect accuracy in this day and age? Geez. How about a story, even with plot holes?

Are young and beautiful female characters intimidating to some fans? Or is it just that those characters are women? I can’t understand the hate.
