Just be happy it didn’t go THUD!
Oingo Boinko..
The duplicate is acting just like Calvin. What a surprise.
A split personalty!! Add that to his bi-polar & schizophrenia behavior!!!
Calvin or really his “invention”, created a monster.
Well I’ll be. It worked. IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!!!!
Ooooh. Push the button again!
The beginning of a fun series of strips.
This reminds me of The Prestige.
And so it begins……
Now this could be interesting. Calvin interacting with Hobbes & another Calvin. Where’s Freud when you need him?
Ooh, double trouble!
Reminds me of Professor Fate and his assistant Max in “The Great Race”; “press the button, Max”.
“Scientific Progress Goes Boink” (epic title drop).
99 Calvins are here in the box, 99 Calvins are here……
Scientific progress starts with “Hmmm, that’s odd.”
There may be trouble ahead.
They’re going to get along so well. (-:
We are all in the soup now!
Hobbes had a good question in the first frame.
Doubting Thomas lacked faith rather than scientific curiousity. Many scientists have been called Doubting Thomases by the Church.
“Boink,” “Ping” or “Splat,” yeh, pretty much.
The inspiration for “Living With Yourself”, (which is hilarious IMHO).
Doubting Thomases?
Yup. You have to remember that if there are two or more of you, you will have to put up with one or more of yourself. Are you ready for that?
Mom and Dad will be so thrilled.
He should have a timey-wimey detector that goes “ding!”.
Yesterday, Calvin talked directly to the readers. Today, Hobbes is doing it. Look at his eyes in the last frame. I think actors call that “Breaking The Wall”.
Futurama had a episode like this with Bender
This can’t be good…
So, let this stand as a warning to the sixty-third century scientist that DOES invent a duplicator: Don’t duplicate yourself.
OK maybe it’s not a duplicator but credit due nonetheless for inventing the world’s first Personality Splitter machine.
I need more buttons to push.
Scientific Progress Goes Boink — one of my favorite book titles
Just what we need—two geniuses running around.
The last speaker isn’t thinking straight. An exact duplicate of a genius would also be a genius.
“Button”
Well I’m 13 and I have read every single Calvin and Hobbes Comic strip, I feel accomplished
Drops Mic
So now there are two of Calvin – might be an opportunity to double-team Moe.
“Doubting Thomas” – Biblical reference aside, the idea that it makes him a doubting Thomas Hobbes is rich.
How about making an “attitude changer” and you be the first to try it out, Calvin?
“Scientific progress goes “Boink”?"….one of the best lines ever!!!
I sense a disturbance in the force.
Well, it’s happened before… “Scientific progress goes ‘BOINK’”
If scientific progress doesn’t go BOINK, it should!
Made me chuckle.
i like boink… It sounds funny.
