I’m sure that hospital gowns are that way because the doctors, the administrators and the staff all basically dislike patients and think they deserve to be uncomfortable and look ridiculous. And because it’s cheap to make ’em like that.
Because I could do a lot better and I’m not even expert. Consider Velcro. Consider elastic. Consider an opening that allows access to the part that they need to access. Consider paper gowns that can be opened at need with scissors.
Life Pro Tip. Put the gown on with the ties in the front. DON’T put your arms in the sleeves. Tie the knots and turn the gown around and now put your arms through the sleeves.
Personally I find the gowns easy to tie. I’ve been tying things behind my back since before I could tie my shoes. I do it by touch. If I can see what i’m tying it is always a struggle, so even when tying my shoes I close my eyes and can do it easily.

I usually get the gown that has only one string attached.

I wonder why they can’t start making those gowns a little more modern. Instead of tie straps how about Velcro.

At least the sling’s color co-ordinates with the gown. And the bruises, I’m sure.

It’s only difficult because the strings are both only 2” long.
