Sometimes a little well intentioned hypocrisy can make life more pleasant.

I don’t remember this series. I hope everybody doesn’t end up bailing on the dinner.

You don’t have to bother about what others think, Marcie! If you think Sir Charlie Brown deserves to be thanked, then you show up, all by yourself if you must!

Marci strikes the first blow to Charlie Brown’s event!

As long as Joe Shlabotnik shows up, who cares if the others bail?

Then why get all dressed up if you’re not going to go?

This is beginning to remind me of one of those Simpsons episodes where Lisa insists on telling the truth because “it’s always the right thing to do”, even though doing so would ruin everything for everyone – Including those who Lisa wishes no harm.

This one always makes me sad. Because there was no hypocrisy, they were giving Charlie Brown a testimonial dinner because of his dedication, not because of his greatness.

But it wouldn’t be Peanuts if it worked out. Poor Chuck.

Didn’t know Marcie’s last name was “Diogenes”…

Boy Marcie, you sure know how to abandon good old Chuck in his time of need.

RIP Sparky. 20 years ago today. Tomorrow will be 20 years since the last original Peanuts.

I think Charlie Brown deserves a testimonial after all he puts himself through to play a little baseball. What? Are only winners worth anything? Charlie Brown deserves anything he wants for never once even saying a harsh word to anyone much less slapping Lucy upside the head.

Marci should, at the very least, show up in order to throw tomatoes at Chuck…..

Normally, I’m all for standing on principle, but it is waaaaay too late to make a stand in this case without absolutely crushing C.B.’s feelings.

Kindness is not hypocrisy! Charlie keeps that team of losers who treat him like crap together. He deserves some kindness and acknowlegment.

Actually, does Marcie even know CB? They must have met, but I wouldn’t think she would know him beyond that.

I just remembered a famous comic from our national designer, Arkas, about a white shark and his companion fish who also calls him Sir, it’s very funny (although mostly black humour).

I always wear my prettiest dress when I go to testimonial dinners.

Much as Marcie hates baseball…

Good for you, Marcie. And yet at the same time your still hurting his feelings.

Charlie Brown deserves even more than they might give him. He is a hero.
