if French toast where to have chocolate, I think it would need cocoa powder sprinkled thereon after taking it off the skillet

Made with chocolate milk instead of white milk, sounds good.

Now I’m going to have to try making French toast with chocolate milk, just to see what it’s like. Because it doesn’t sound like it would be bad.

Some upscale coffee shop somewhere is probably already doing this.

The chocolate milk was fine. It was the garlic that messed up the recipe…

Maybe Linus should read a recipe book.

An alternative name for French toast is “poor knights”. Linus’ version ought to be called “poor Lucy”.

Might want to read some recipes first, Linus.

Linus, its going to take more than a ‘spoonful of sugar’ to turn Ms. Crabtree into an actual human being …

Ugh Lucy’s being crabby again. I’m sure French toast with chocolate milk would taste just fine

French toast was a favorite of my sister and myself in the 50’s. My mom made the best!

When my sister’s kids were little, she’d use Pepperidge Farm raisin bread to make a cream cheese sandwich, then turn that into French toast. I never had any, but it sounds amazing.

Just watched Kevin Belton on the Create channel make pain perdu.

When he got to the part about adding cream he explained that he has also tried milk alternatives [soy or almond] – “Just use what you like”.

While serving in the Navy during the Vietnam era we had a ship’s cook who made chocolate pancakes a lot. They were good.

I think chocolate French toast would probably taste good. On the other hand, I love Lucy’s face in the last panel. Aside from beagle kisses, Linus may have found an Achilles heel for Lucy.

Lucy can be more considerate to the younger sibling. After all he has worked hard on this.

Sounds like it would taste pretty good actually. If you like chocolate that is.
