oatmeal with walnuts, dates, and raisins for me (that’d be Quaker instant oatmeal)

Oatmeal wasn’t something we had in the house when I was a kid, and I never developed the taste for it. When I did try it later, I didn’t like it much. But I can see it being a comfort food for people who grew up with it.

Oatmeal, cream with salt to taste, lovely!

Maple syrup drizzled over the oatmeal perks up the flavor … stir it in before adding milk, if you do that.

Can use oatmeal to patch a radiator in you Model T so you can get to town.

Let’s hope it wasn’t silly putty, for poor Jon’s sake!

I’m with garfield on this one.

My grandfather used to eat porridge(oatmeal) with salt and a cup of milk to dip the porridge on a spoon in. A real Scot!

You call it Oatmeal but in the UK we call it porridge. Originally, it comes from Scotland and ask any Scots if they liked it. lol!

As a child I hated any kind of cooked cereal, oats, grits, whatever, all of it. I’m damn near 70 now and I can finally enjoy (?) oatmeal with dates, raisins, and nuts a little bit.

Never liked oatmeal. Like rolled oats though.

Best oatmeal is in cookie form.

I’ve been looking for something to patch a hole in the block wall in our back yard. Now I know what might work. (the hard water here is brutal on block walls, driveways, patios and sidewalks)

Oatmeal; who doesn’t like that? (sigh) Well, that would be me.

Only Garfield would use oatmeal to fix the crack in the wall. If you really want to get him to eat oatmeal, put chocolate syrup in it.

So, the joke is that lazy Garfield actually did some work around the house when he is provided with a right tool.

The proverbial “stick to your ribs” food.

That patch would hold the next winter snowfall. Garfield needs something more carb.

Me, me, me!!!! Well at least someone found some use for that *&$%.

No no no Garfield. You use Oatmeal to fix the Radiator. You use Instant Grits to fix the damaged Wall.
