Can you go back to “Gosh, why is everyone so mean all the time?”, Scott? Even that is better than this pack of lies.

Stantis would never have impeached Nixon.

Clinton, sure, impeached, convicted and removed.

Because It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It.

What a pity, that they have to fight elections for their cause.

The inconvenience of having to get a majority.

If normal methods of persuasion, fail to win the applause.

There are other ways of establishing athority.

If an election means you can’t impeach, you might as well take impeachment out of the Constitution. It’s SUPPOSED to be an extra-electoral remedy. That’s why it’s there. That’s the whole idea.

But let’s give the President carte blanche to fix an election, and them pretend we care about the will of the voters in that election.

Trust the people? If Republicans trusted the people to vote, they would oppose gerrymandering and the electoral college.

    @realDonaldTrump

“…goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book.”

    (next phrase)

“All Classified National Security. Who would do this?”

    ~

“untrue book” and “All Classified National Security.”

(Two mutually exclusive rants… So which is it?)

John Bolton’s old comrades from “Fox & Friends” have officially unfriended him.

The longtime Republican national security hand and Fox News contributor went straight from his cable TV perch to a front-row seat in the White House for the Ukraine imbroglio that would lead to President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

But the former national security adviser’s forthcoming tell-all has added explosive details to the Senate’s impeachment trial in the eleventh hour.

And his old pals at Fox News, where he was a paid contributor for 11 years, have quickly disowned him from the pro-Trump family with a broadside of character attacks and critical news coverage.

Mitt Romney asked Trump’s lawyer when did Trump first request the hold on Ukraine, and what was his reason why? Trump’s defense had no answer.

Romney asked, “On what specific date did Trump first order the hold on aid to Ukraine, and did he give a reason at that time?”

This was Trump lawyer, Patrick Philbin’s response in part:

I don’t think that there is evidence in the record of a specific date, the specific date, but there is testimony in the record that individuals at OMB and elsewhere were aware of a hold as of July 3rd and there is evidence in the record of the president’s rationales from even earlier than that time.

There is an email from June 24th that has been publicly released. It was publicly released in response to a FOIA request that is from one dod staffer up to the chief of staff in DOD — excuse me, sorry, from the chief of staff down to a staffer in DOD, relating on the subject line, “POTUS follow-up.”

    ~

Trump’s lawyers don’t have answers for the most basic questions, and Philbin’s response made the argument for calling more witnesses.

Mick Mulvaney could answer the question on when the hold was requested, and even better, the White House has the documented paper trail on when and why the hold was requested.

Clearly a conversation with a GOP Representative. I was going to suggest that the interlocutor is Jordan except for the suit coat. Collins wants to be the next GOP senatecritter for Georgia so it probably wouldn’t be him, either.

The actual defense proffered by trumps legal team is that he can literally do whatever he wants as long as he thinks his reelection is in the national interest. This is a recipe for tyranny. What president wouldn’t think his reelection is in the national interest?

Yes, according to Alan Dershowitz, Donald Trump can murder his opponent in order to win an election, and nobody could do anything about it.

And the GOP seems to be going along with that.

Remember when they called Obama a tyrant for saying “I have a pen and a phone”?

Yeah cause the past few years of GOP gerrymandering of Congressional districts haven’t ensured all of the elections go the GOP way all the time. Yet you’re worried about Congressional oversight that is lawful within the Constitution as checks and balances.

Why worry about the election results. It will either be a second win for Trump or he’ll lose, claim the vote was rigged, call his followers to rally to his support and rise up against his democrat foes. When the civil war is over he’ll declare himself God emperor and set up his children as his heirs to the American Empire. The election results are irrelevant.
