Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Members of the Tautology Society, let me introduce you to the members of Oxymoron International. Jumbo shrimp will be served with a bittersweet au jus. You may pick up your plastic silverware next to an original copy of the clubâs bylaws.
On the timeline of our history and future, permanent and temporary are just relative terms ⊠and often âwishfulâ.
In college, we were offered a âtemporary Student Unionâ in the old Bookstore as the land was being cleared for its new modern version. 27 years later, that switch was completed.
similar to the weather and other news people. "It (insert news item) happened back in 2019_. Or how about he cut it into two halves?
Also have to wonder if Google keeps a record of the numbers of people who look up terms or quotes while reading some comics. Itâs a good thing to have that service and I appreciate it.
Of course, the folks in charge of the English language knew better than to court trouble by making another word that meant anything like tautology. That would be redundant.
Mallett doesnât understand the definition of âtautologyâ. A tautology is a statement that must always be true, and therefore is essentially meaningless, for example âIt is what it is.â The word Caulfield is looking for is âredundancyâ. And as other commenters have pointed out, itâs not necessarily redundant either as there are such things as temporary records.
