I bet the only reason Rosalyn keeps babysitting Calvin is because of the negotiating leverage she has against Calvin’s parents.

Yup! Even Dennis the Menace had a friend in Mrs. Wilson. No one else would babysit Dennis Mitchell.

It’s worth every penny!

First you buy the tickets to the show, which cost like a years worth of Netflix. Then you buy a nice meal which costs like a couple of weeks of home-meals. THEN you pay the baby sitter tax. It’s no WONDER they never get frisky enough to make a Calvin-sib: They can only afford a night off every leap year or so.

Sometimes I feel sorry for Calvin’s dad:1) He’s Calvin’s father.2) He’s married to his wife.

I’ve learned, over these many years, that the nicer a woman is to me in front of other people, the bigger trouble I am in when we are next alone. Sadly, I’m usually not aware of what I did to deserve the niceness in public until she tells me in anger in private. I rarely get in trouble fishing.

I’d like to see how they would get thru what is going on now when you’re trapped with him!!

Hey, baby sitters who will deal with Calvin at all don’t come cheaply.

My niece has the same problem as Calvin’s parents. No one ever babysits for her more than once, including some relatives

It’s basic economics. Calvin has made her a babysitting monopoly for his parents. All other providers appear to have left the market and no one else wants to enter the market.

And they thought having kids was such a great idea

I used to babysit for a family of 5 boys and 1-2 girls. They told me that they thought their father was home and wouldn’t make a peep. worked every time.

actually I think she is fair. One she is the only sitter willing to deal with Calvin. It is not like it is going to be an easy night for here. You want a night out you pay.

I’ve always, after all these years, had a case for Rosalyn. My kinda gal, it’s always good to see her again.

I don’t recall the last time being an “advance” as much as paying her extra for all the distress.

I’m curious what would happen if Ros didn’t get the advance. Would she leave part way through babysitting? Leave now?
