As a retail worker, you Must show this kind of restraint! I was working in the electrical dept, of my store, when a customer said he needed receptacle outlets for his bathroom remodel. I showed him the GFCI outlets, which is used for wet locations. He called me silly and said he did not need them. I told him the state requires these outlets if they are within 2 feet of a water source. He then said several unrepeatable words and told me that I had no ideal what I was talking about. I put up my hands and said, Ok sir, have a nice day. He then took some regular outlets and left, still cursing. Two days later, he came back and literally got on his knees in front of me! Oh Miss! You were right! An inspector came by and nearly gave me a fine for having the wrong outlets installed! I am so so sorry! I did not say I told you so( although, I was screaming it in my head!) I just smiled and gave him the correct outlets!

Bad idea to insult the people who handle your food, I would have put the special sauce of love on his burger.

Wow, like Christmas with my relatives. And he is just like my great uncle. Recently had a heart attack. He demanded a new nurse at the hospital because the nighttime nurse was male so he assumed gay. Pointed out how indecent it would be to have a gay nurse. He eats lots of fast food.

Y’know, that customer should shut his friggin’ trap. Alex took the job to keep his family above water until his husband gets gainfully employed again. THAT is all that should matter. (Besides, I’ve heard it said..‘be careful how you treat those on the way up because you might meet the same people on the way down’. ;D)

I never get why people are so impolite to people in service jobs. A little smile and a few nice words don’t cost anything, but go a long way. Be friendly and polite and you will get something in return. And if not, you brightened the day a bit for someone. He or she will remember.

Even if they get the order wrong (which is rare) I try to be polite. I’ve heard enough stories from the restaurant trade as to what happens to a brusque complainers food. Besides, I worked many years in retail, and know what it’s like to deal with rude customers. I refuse to be one.

He was lucky he did not get a complimentary knuckle sandwich as well.

My husband worked at a certain national sub chain for years and regularly had stories like this. Thankfully he’s finished school and is a nurse now. His patients can be just as surly, but now at least he has high pay, benefits, etc.

if this guy works at mcdonalds they always mess up our order!!! still people should not complain sooo much!!

Wow… People can be just the biggest (bleep)-holes to people who are just trying to make a living and make the best of a difficult situation
