Calvin, make sure you say, “DAD SAID men are better at abstract reasoning," or your tv ban is going to get longer.
when they bond, they bond well
sure we sure Calvin isn’t related to Albert Einstein? I mean… look at their hair-dos!
Now tell Calvin about the big bang theory.
You gain time flying eastward, not westward. (Unless you cross the International Date Line…)
Is this the first reference to where in the country they are; they’re in the Eastern time zone? Vampires prefer flying west, because it is less likely to switch from night to day while they’re on the airplane.
The key point to being a dad is the aura of infallibility and certainty. Mere accuracy is a distant third.
Small wonder indeed that Calvin is the way he is…
Calvin’s dad will be denied conjugal privileges for quite sometime.
The theory of relativity has to do with how different relatives explain things differently.
I had a feeling that this strip would bring out a plethora of good comments. I wasn’t disappointed. Well done gang.
Dad manages to keep his tongue in his cheek pretty well.
Dad’s lucid grasp of complex scientific theories is nothing short of amazing! (rolls eyes) :D
A Calvin in motion stays in motion.
Dad might be on his way to sleeping on the couch if he relies on Calvin to deliver any message to Mom…..
The only reason Mom didn’t kill Dad is because that would make her a single Mom of Calvin.
Dad is looking to get himself killed. :D
I think Calvin’s dad has the mentality and education of a 2 year old if that!
However I believe after Calvin tells his Mom what Dad said he will be a lot smarter!
Dad’s going to learn a new aspect of ‘relativity’ soon…
Go West young man. Or East if you want to get there before you left.
Now Dad is trying to get the boy killed!
See how much easier it is to believe something when it’s a lie.
Calvin’s Dad gives a new meaning to “Mansplaining”.
Einstein just rolled in his grave.
Typical 6 year old question.
One of the first dad jokes in a long series of getting Calvin into (more) trouble.
Calvin’s dad reminds me of my dad.
Schrodinger’s cat would be a good topic.

Dad sowing chaos, just for the heck of it. (Last frame) You can see where Calvin gets his Godzilla streak from.
Here’s my question about Relativity. If we look far enough back into the Past can we eventually see the Future?
That fact that Dad can come up with these explanations on the spot impresses me.
Wonderful! I finally feel that I understand that relativity theory thing!
Why be accurate when you can pull the chains of both your son and your wife?
Not bad enough that he fills the kid’s head with crap. Now he wants Calvin in trouble with Mom too!
After reading the last panel, one can only imagine what panels five and six would be like!
and he wonders why Calvin is so bad at school
I always thought the answer was 1.21 gigawatts of power, and 88 miles per hour necessary for that to happen.
I love these teaching moments.
Reminds me of my dad pulling my leg when he would say “horse give milk, cow pull wagon”.
I love Dad’s “explanations.” My favorite was that Sunday strip when he explained why old photographs and movies were in black & white.
C&H, pure brain sugar, from Ohio, where there’s snow and sun…
Now tell him about the birds and the bees.
It did not know relativity was that simple! You can Only thrust Calvin’s dad on that count.

There was a young lady called Bright
Who could travel faster than light.
She set off one day
In a relative way,
Arriving the previous night.
Some men are just better at shoveling it!
Calvins dad is sexist and he wants Calvins mom to know.
Wait ’till we hear what Hobbes has to say about relativity.
One can only imagine mom n dad’s conversations when dad returns from work: ‘Guess what he came up with today’.
