Yes, its out there! Yesterday, my neighbour mentioned that his wife had to make a couple trips to the hospital with COVID-19; and it swept through him and the kids as well.
I suppose. I do not know anyone affected so far. Seems like it is mostly a NYC thing, or Mardi Gras, or Chinese New Year related. We are mostly staying in, however, obedient if a bit dubious.
The tub of sanitizer is next to the door, robes on the bench in plastic bags. Put your clothes in those and you can take them home with you. Gloves are on the table just before the plastic barrier.
I have never understood this American aversion to do things that will protect themselves and others, like wearing a protective face mask or staying in their homes when asked.
I really think many people in the U.S.A. have an adolescent psychological streak that they’ve never outgrown. This rebellious attitude has caused them to cut their nose to spite their faces. Their distrust of authority – scientific, medical, or governmental – has exacerbated an already dire situation that could have been controlled, if handled maturely in the first place.
I don’t care if you live in Burnt Bunny, Oklahoma, or Bangor, Maine. Do yourselves and your fellow human beings a favor. STAY HOME!! And if you do have to go out for an emergency, WEAR A PROTECTIVE MASK.

An infectious disease expert (you know, a SCIENTIST) recently said there are only two risk factors for catching COVID-19: being alive, and living on planet Earth. Trusting politicians instead of scientists, and thinking that Old McDonald’s Farm is somehow immune is, quite frankly, being stupid.
Y’all do know that we here in the Seattle area had the first cases, the first community spread, the first deaths, right? I don’t understand why Tank, Barb, and their neighbor think this is OK. We started asking businesses to work from home in early March. On March 16 we had virtually the same number of cases as NY when we started closing schools, restaurants and bars state-wide. Currently our deaths double every 9-10 days. NY doubles every 2-3 days. WA state currently still has just over 300 deaths; NY has over 4,000. Wash your hands and don’t socialize. Tank, walk away and stay home.
I’ve made it 75 years so far and doing my darndest to prolonging it even longer. Unfortunately I have to take my spouse toa care center 3 times a week for a non-virus medical problem.
At some point we’ll have to phase back in to “normal.” I think there are always risks and I’ve talked to too many people who seem willing to take away the rights of others in order to make themselves feel safe. Some of these folks want to impose restrictions on others even after the crisis is over, usually under the guise of prevention of future pandemics. They use the easiest weapon in the arsenal to push their agenda – Fear. The fact is, society has always looked for balance – balance between risk and the economy and freedoms. We should return to that as soon as practicable.

Well, if you’re gonna do it, that’s how you’ll have to do it. But those masks should be sealed in plastic before T&B open them and put them on.

They were breaking the rules anyway going the the neighbors, masks or not. Jigsaw puzzles are hardly essential.
