All the mothers in my life are gone on to heaven. So, I made a special trip to put out special flowers on the graves of two aunts, a grand mother and momma. Momma taught me well.
Jump Start is one of my three most favorite comic strips, and this one is great. The whole strip is specific, yet universal. And it’s so well written and drawn, with memorable characters. My father was a cartoonist and comics historian and he once pointed out two things: the evolution of black characters in strips and the difficulty many cartoonists had in drawing black people. He said that printing technology advances helped turn caricatures into characters.
Lol the grammar police has returned. Also, the crazy driver has also returned. Seriously, it’s been a while since we last saw her do either of these. It brings back memories of earlier strips.
I’m astounded SHE made an error, altho frankly it’s one I do myself… panel 7: nobody – their. Tho the correct way is so awkward: nobody – his/her. Or, change “nobody is” to “none of them are”.

The terror on Marcy’s face at the though of a Mother’s day ride from mom is priceless.

Still…it would be nice if you actually listened to her.

I have a suspicion that they’re deliberately making those grammatical errors to give her something to correct…

Here’s a word for you Dot— Buhsketti. I’m having it for dinner. What’re you going to do about it?

Her driving terrifies the entire Philadelphia area. Radio stations interrupt regular programming to issue PSE’s about Dots location

There are some questions that should never be asked.

Yay, no masks! the mall’s open! And Dot still drives like my own mom. Grammar patrol is still my job, though.
