My son was a waiter for almost a decade. He says that there is a fine art to waiting tables. You have to “size up” the party up and plan your performance accordingly.
Generally, my wife and I and a friend go out once a week to eat. I call this “date night” even though it involves another woman (alas, no kink is involved at all). We generally get chummy with the people who wait on them and joke with them and include them as a part of our meal experience.
Some people just want to be left alone and it would please them just as much if they were served by robots.
Some waitstaff are like the on in the comic. If the restaurant is busy, I can understand this. Other waiters constantly interrupt you and that is annoying too.
If I get exceptionally good or exceptionally bad service, I let management know. Also it isn’t always the waitstaff that is at fault, sometimes it is the kitchen and in one case, I told the manager what a bad job SHE was doing.
How often have you gone to a restaurant where the wait staff is right there asking you as they give you the menu “do you wish to order now” before you know what you want and then, you don’t see them again for a half an hour?

No apron, no quick service, no masks, no patrons…

Might be a Mexican restaurant; how can you have so many choices with so few ingredients?

If you need a translator, I’ll send the guy over from the bar.

I can’t wait until restaurant dining rooms are open again and can go have a hot meal I didn’t cook.

the problem is the more choices there are on the menu, the more likely they are all going to taste the same.
I prefer restaurants with small menus and big flavors

Reminds me of a sign I saw in a Shakey’s saying ‘Nobody complains about the service here, there isn’t any".
