I only found Ten Cats a few years ago, but it’s been my required daily viewing ever since I found it :-)

Today is

Arbor Day

National Pigs-in-a-Blanket Day

National Hairball Awareness Day. Now, what cat (or cat owner) is not aware regularly of hairballs?

National Teach Your Children to Save Day. This reminds me of something that happened with my dad years ago (he died in 1990). My dad never believed in giving us spending money as kids and he never believed in spending money on things you don’t really need. One day, my niece, Michelle, was at the house (I think she was about 6 years old or so at the time). I should point out here that Michelle is learning disabled due to fetal alcohol syndrome. She is now an adult and able to live on her own, but she has staff that help her every day with things like getting to work, buying groceries, etc. Anyway, at the time, she was just a young girl and one day, she asked “Grandpa” for some spending money. He practically roared at her – he said, “SPENDING MONEY? What about SAVING money?” Michelle, who didn’t understand him, replied, “Oh, Grandpa. you’re so funny!” My dad was not amused at that, but luckily, Michelle was not offended by his outburst or his anger because she didn’t understand that he was serious that money is something you SAVE, not something you spend.

To zippykatz from yesterday’s comments – I do like crossword puzzles, but I stick mainly to easy ones. I like word seek puzzles too and the “variety” puzzle books which include things like crosspatch puzzles, logic puzzles and a bunch of other types of puzzles.

I used to do a lot of paint-by-number pictures too. I think I did my first one when I was about 10 years old and I did a lot of those over the years, but it’s not easy to find paint-by-number sets these days. We had them at Walmart at one time, but they were only the simple ones meant for young kids. I think they sell them in a catalog called “Bit & Pieces”, but I have not bought any of those & have not done any paint-by-number in many years now.

How did we survive without our Annie and all the kitties? THANK YOU GRAHAM!!!!!

For those of you wondering if I ever got another cat. The brother with whom I share my house with says an emphatic NO. And that is the end of that argument for now.

Congrats on 10 year with 10 cats! Here’s to ten thousand sexdecillion more!!!

This is the place we all come when we have good news or bad news to share with people who will understand and give us mental and emotional support. Over the past ten years, we’ve seen so many of our sweet (and sometimes not so sweet) kitties cross that rainbow bridge. Everyone here has gone through it and grieves with us.
