Don’ go calling Opal an antique,Earl.

200 years from now, Opal might be more famous than Raphael.

Earl must enjoy sleeping on the couch.

Not exactly what Opal was looking for there, Earl!

I thought that was a very supportive statement. He could’ve just said, “You want me to tell the truth?” But that would not have ended well.

Earl and Opal do not look like an ideal couple.

He’s trying to tell her she can’t paint, but…..

Earl feels it’s the easel’s job to be supportive.

“First, ya gotta die…”

Careful, Earl. You’ll wind up wearing that canvas around your neck.

“Define ‘supportive’. If what you mean is, I ought to be gushing about your artwork… forget it, Opal!”

“You know, Opal… I’m so glad you’re spending your time doing something harmless, instead of, say, taking my Studebaker out street racing. How’s THAT for supportive?!?”

The odds are against him but Earl is optimistic and planning ahead.. should he be the last man standing selling her art could pay for a luxurious hospice room.

Well, probably better than cutting off your ear or taking decades to finish an almost smiling lady, or putting an empty ‘V’ in a Last Supper portrait over which conspiracy-theorists can freak out.

Well, it’s like this, Opal. Your art makes Bob Ross look like Rembrandt.

Maybe she should try using her correct hand rather than her right.

That’s what happened to Vincent Van Gogh. His paintings didn’t become valuable until after his death.

So , lets look at Opal..even if she seems questionable now, she should keep working at art if she enjoys it.

I’ve heard of suffering for your art, but dying is bit extreme.
