    Don’t worry Andy, those old-time Romans loved their wine too. And as they say “In uino ueritas”, and that’s the truth.

    @Number Three Today’s strip IS funny , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp is no wine connoseur the most expensive Merlot and a bottle of plonk taste the same to him just as long as it gets him drunk :o) my avatar today is my birth sign Leo roaring it’s head off because it angry at the world like I am , welcome back and how was your day in freedom, our day should be very busy and hectic because both Connie and me are in a foul mood and keep snapping at each other but things should get better I hope :o{ keep safe and BCNU pal

    The Merlot I have in my cellar 13.5%… An average, cheap beer that Andy would probably drink would be around 5%… So this sommelier knows what he’s talking about…

    However, for the life of me, I’ve never understood why anyone would want to drink alcohol to the point of losing control of their bodily and mental functions… That actually scares me…

    Rum, whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila etc will all get Andy drunk quicker than the merlot, he should opt for those choices.

    that’s what happens when your reputation precedes you. Andy might have chosen to give Flo an evening with a nice, quiet dinner without drinking.

    I wonder if they have Horace Rumpole’s favorite wines on the menu – Chateau de Fleet Street or Chateau Thames Embankment?

    Im surprised no one said this… WAIT Andy….check the price FIRST. I think he would freak out when he discovers how much beer he could drink instead.

    Andy’s not a pretentious wine drinker. Now beer, he’s a connoisseur.

    Every time I see an Andy Capp strip with wine involved, I keep thinking of the time when Flo said to Andy “Fancy trying a drop of Mum’s rhubarb wine, pet?”

    Andy then said he wouldn’t drink that muck and to just give him a beer. There was no beer left. So he tried a glass of the rhubarb wine and muttered “Mmm. Very nice”

    @Afficionado

    I’ve been out again today with my Mum. I’ve noticed that when you go out for fresh air, it helps you to sleep very well. I’ve been out like a light lately.

    Sorry to hear that you and Connie are snapping at each other. That’s what lockdown does to people.

    Take care, pal.

    I found that a sweet red port wine, like Akadama was especially good for that quality.
