Shaky almost said “Breathless’s mother” as the discuss over drinks, but he remembered just in time to treat her as being in character. He is smooth-talking her as much as he can. Was Mrs. Mahoney really involved with Itchy and Mrs. BB-Eyes or is that new information. I don’t remember.
Wait, weren’t we just talking to Edison? Why did we run home to see her, if we’re just going to dash back to, umm, Fortuna? Did I miss a transition? Were the days printed out of order?
Who else noticed the small tribute to HBO’s Boardwalk Empire – the guy at the right edge of the screen looks just like the WWI character who, due to a severe wound to the left side of his face, had to wear a partial mask that looked like a face. AND the Tracy artist cleverly hid the damaged portion of his face! Nice job. And best of all, it’s not another Styx Stroke.
Shaky Mk.2 and Fortuna “Breathless Mahoney” Dyer dining in an elegant restaurant, maybe in the Siam, and probably at her expense (or, rather, the studio’s) and exchanging information. Excellent. And a grand view of the restaurant and diners by Joe.
But I wish we had more idea of where this is going; Shaky has a scheme, he says, and Fortuna is sly, coy, and inscrutable. And we, the audience, for all we really know, might be wandering aimlessly in Twin Peaks or Lost….

Yet ANOTHER day wasted and this story, already an albatross from the beginning, has become an anchor instead

And, to the left, Selina Kyle overhears the conversation and decides to listen closer.
