Time to put on a pleasant face. And practice patience for a couple of hours or so.

on my solo trip to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2007, I don’t have any recollection anymore of I had to sit next to a mother with two children… I only recall the flight back home was an unexpected, overnight layover on Oahu Island and had to book a new flight the next day

Something is wrong here. He appears to be on the port side of the plane and those 3 seats are normally seats A, B, and C.

I flew to Florida in 1998 for a class choir trip. I slept the whole time, both ways.

The standard trick when you are flying with an infant who can sit in your lap, is that you book the window and the aisle and hope no one will book the less-desired middle seat.

When I visit my daughter I have to fly on an employee pass. And it’s always standby, which means the middle seat. Invariably I’m flanked by two large men who are “ man spreading”.

Unfortunate timing for Diversity… looks like he’s startled at having to sit next to a family of color…

Most comfy flight I ever had was on Singapore Airlines. Tons of leg room, brought you hot towels, great meals, many amenities you wouldn’t find even in first class on other airlines. Of course that was 20 years ago, so who knows about today.

I had to fly to Puerto Rico to pick up my cruise ship, I was seated next to 2 gentleman w/ a baby ;it was the most pleasant experience ever. The proud father & grandpa were fun company and the baby was as good as gold. :^)

I don’t think you can have both a baby and a child in the same seat with you.

I was flying from LA to New York and had booked a bulkhead aisle seat. The window and middle seat were taken up with a woman with two squirming brats and a squalling baby and a ton of “baby” stuff. Miraculously, the flight attendant saw the look of dismay on my face and took pity on me. She moved me into a nice quiet seat in business class without my even asking.

This is why I always greet and speak nicely to all the flight attendants on every flight I’m on, and thank them after the trip.

I’m sure most of the other passengers were dismayed when they saw our party boarding with two cat carriers in hand. To be honest, I was afraid they would yowl for the whole two and a half hour flight. Either the sedative worked better than I expected or they just went with the flow. They barely said a word for the whole flight.

Ha Ha! Serves him right. I hope Michael doesn’t injure or insult the little girl and baby.

Michael may just have a very enjoyable flight, since he isn’t related to the other children

You want the flight from hell. I once flew in the center section of a fully loaded 747 going from Hong Kong to Chicago (15 hours) surrounded by 6 month old Chinese babies who had just been adopted by American couples.

Oh, the fun didn’t end in Chicago either because as I was rushing through the airport to make a close connection, which wasn’t easy since I had no feeling in my left leg, I was stopped and badged by a Narc who wanted to know where I had been, what I was doing there and where I was going.

Oh well Michael – you have plenty of experience ignoring your mom, just ignore this lady and her children.

Oh, good grief! Is there some law somewhere that says you must find something Lynn Johnston has done wrong in every cartoon?
