Sure, we appreciate you risking your life so we don’t have to risk ours. Do we appreciate you enough to care whether or not you make a living wage? Whether you have any semblance of job security? Whether you can afford health care? Whether you have any control over your hours or working conditions? Whether you’re safe from being robbed on the street? Nah, not so much.
I read about 30 comics every morning. Almost done as A&J are near the end of my list, but here, surprisingly, the political BS raised its ugly head…..aka Trolls! Basic reality is that no-one is exempt from the virus and the best you can do is follow the guidelines to the best of your ability. Hopefully we all stay healthy.
I’ll leave people to Google the analogy made about wearing rubber pants and urination.
Nevertheless, the entire “controversy” can be avoided by the practice used in my locality: pay and tip in advance with credit card, then, delivery person, if possible, calls just before arrival, knocks or rings on door and leaves delivery on doorstep. The order taker reminds the customer that this is the procedure and they cannot be responsible for theft by man or animal.
But my sense is that this slight variation is too hard for some to handle and represents an assault on their “rights”.
Occurred to me when I came back this week to check posts since last week – neither husband nor I has ever had a pizza delivered – before we were married when we each lived at home with our separate families or since we married – no other meals either and for the first time – last month we had food delivered to us – and regretted having done so since as usual with the few items we have delivered (only order things if absolutely no other way to get a needed item) as there were problems with both the delivery from BJs and the 3 days of deliveries of Walmart. Bag of ice offered by BJs as a replacement item for one of the many items – this one being a meat item they were out of – ice, meat – they are interchangeable I guess. Walmart order had dented cans – 40% of them in one delivery and 5 of 8 in another one.

If Arlo really appreciated him wouldn’t he have put on a mask before opening the door?

No criticism of Arlo here. He kept quiet and waited until PizzaDude was distanced before expressing his appreciation.
Good one, JJ.

“Delivering before delivering was cool”? You’re doing Santa Claus a disservice Arlo.

At one point during the worst of the virus in NYC – 24 people were dying of it every hour, with 799 in one day as the highest day of deaths.
