Let’s hear it for Snoopy.

In a world of semi-anthromorphic animals, those kinds of threats seem…uncool.

That’s a fat load of gratitude for someone who feeds you, makes sure you have clean cold water, shelters you in bad weather and loves you no matter what!

This strip is from 1973, meaning CB has had Snoopy for what? 23 years? Doubt Daisy Hill would take Snoopy back.

What has Snoopy EVER done for Charlie Brown? He constantly seems to be embarrassed by him, never really shows him any affection or loyalty, and doesn’t even remember his name. All he cares about is Charlie Brown feeding him on time.

This reminds me of my parent’s weird threat to call a camp for children who don’t do what their parents tell them to do. I think I was 8 when I told them I thought they were lying and dared them to make the phone call.

OK, Charlie Brown, Snoopy’s challenged you to make that “perfect phone call”!

One of my rules of teaching was: Never threaten… unless totally prepapred to carry out the threat.
