When I was a kid, I remember my brother and out friends shooting arrows straight up in the air. At times, we would lose track of them and everybody would panic and run in different directions. Fortunately, no one ever got hit. Ah, good times.
Shooting an arrow vertically is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to you, and to others. If there is no wind, it is very likely to come down and kill you. If there is, it could kill someone else.

You know the saying, what goes up waits for the rest then comes down together.

It makes me think of that poem, “I shot an arrow into the air,” and that’s all I can reliably recall.

What goes up, must come down. Except taxes of course (always an exception to the rule).

Um, Hiawatha? NASA’s on Line 3 and they sound a bit pettish.
