I’d hate to know how Jon would injure himself with a twisty thing (screwdriver).

Saw an advertisement today for Band-aids. Must have been dated somewhere around 1930’s. Little boy with a hammer, mismatch batch of wood, and his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. Silly me could only think of a trick I learn long ago. Save the fingers when hammering a nail – use a comb to hold the nail!

The problem is obvious. Jon is holding the hammer in his left hand, and it’s pretty obvious that the “smashy-thingy” is a right hand hammer. Go to Home Depot Jon, and ask for a left-handed hammer!

I always thought the hammer should have been called the Thumb smasher. But the Ad man said you can’t sell it with that name. No truth in advertising.

Jon, if you don’t even have the brains to know what the tool is called, you don’t get to use it.

Some tools get rather strange names by the various groups that use them.

For instance I went into a Tractor Supply and asked if they carried Picket Pounders. It turned out they called them Post Drivers. Another example was when as a Frat Pledge we were sent out on a scavenger hunt and one of the items was listed as a “Horse Cock”. It turned out that in the Mining Industry that’s a 48 inch Pipe Wrench.

You want my advice, Jon? Wear protective metal gloves, and that would reduce the chances of smashing your fingers with the ‘smashy-thing’.
