This happened at a small tech company I worked at years ago. The CEO was visiting an out of town potential customer, took them out for a night of dining and drinking, then couldn’t find his rental car the next day. He ended up flying home and telling the rental car company the car was lost. A month later the company was about to pay for it when the car turned up, having been towed from a parking lot as an abandoned vehicle. Ah, the joys of being a CEO rather than a worker. If I had misplaced a rental car I suspect I would have been the one about to pay for it, not the company.

And he probably doesn’t remember where he was when he started walking, either.

I went to Walmart once, mind in neutral, parked and walked into the store without taking note of where in the parking lot I was. Came out and thought " uh oh ". haha Good times !

It’s worse when you come out and find your car towed away by the City!

I would suggest Geech take a picture of the parking space (and surrounding area) with his cell phone (assuming he has one; I realize these strips were done more than 20 years ago). Such a action has helped me innumerable times! However, even if all those stars aligned for our benighted protagonist, he’d no doubt lock it (and the keys) in the truck, leaving us right back where we started.

I had to stop drinking when I was younger because 1 to many times I had to go out and see if my car made it home with me
