They still diagram sentences?

I remember that 25 years ago…

IMO, Nerwin’s school is surprisingly good!

I write for a living and never never could diagram a sentence.

I love this one so much.

We finally found something that Nerwin is good at!

Diagramming sentences is a useful skill, right up there with putting socks on snakes.

I always felt that diagramming sentences was the most useless exercise assigned. Yes it taught (somewhat) how to identify what the parts of a sentence were, but it absolutely failed to teach anything about HOW to use those parts effectively as a means of communication.

Whoa, Nerwin finally got an ‘A’ in something?

I’m one of those nerds who loved grammar, and actually enjoyed diagramming sentences. Nowadays, I wonder if they still teach grammar in school.

I’m 64 and doubt I could do it either…

At least Nerwin can see the bright side of things.

What is “diagram a sentence”? I am trying to remember that from school.

We had to parse a sentence in 6th grade. I had to idea what that meant, never understood, why or how. To this day I don’t know or recognize all of the parts of a sentence. Despite that, I get paid to write. Now if I could just proof my own writing……
