Alfred Yankovic was valedictorian when he was in high school; he’s still pretty much polka king when it comes to his earlier parodies.

Yup Jon, one is forced to concede that you are, indeed, a tad bit dotty.

And I thought Jon would be part of the crowd I hung out with -

Was there a Polka Queen, Jon?

No Jon, Frankie Yankovic was the one and only original “Polka King” (for USA … for Canada it was Walter Ostanek). Yankovic and Ostanek are both listed in the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame (along with one of my uncles).

There was a girl in my graduating class who was a huge “jock”. Everyone knew her for her sports prowess. However, it was a huge surprise to all of us when she was also announced as valedictorian.

I don’t get people who live their entire life “stuck” in high school.
