“You’ve seen the effects first hand on Dr. Amesworth”
I wonder what effects are being referred to? The Dr. Amesworth we have been seeing seems fairly stable, if a tad grumpy at times. She seems rather well versed in inter-reality physics, but talks about it rationally. I still wonder if there are two Dr. Amesworths in this reality, one who I assume discovered and implemented Amesworth radiation weaponry, causing vast destruction to their world, and the other (a daughter) who is hanging out with our anthros.
Although there is still the question of the female “ghost” that wandered the beach, crying out and catching Duffy’s attention. Is she still out there, or is she Dr Amesworth when she is less than lucid? And then there is the question of the experiments on topsiders and their suits who were transformed into something she considered to be stranger and more malformed than any anthro.
This isn’t really a surprising development. We heard that the comic was found in one of the topsider facilities, behind some equipment. It then seems like it went missing. But it ended up with Ravenscroft… Given that Amesworth mentioned topsiders volunteering to convert, it was then likely that Ravenscroft was one of those.
But it does help explain why Ravenscroft was creating a gate network on his wall. He obviously was doing something like that before conversion to anthro. Perhaps, like Sarah, he was ill and needed the anthro healing.Definitely good stuff today.
Notice the missing eye lenses. Looks like he plugged himself into the system maybe causing a suit malfunction. For an indestructible suit it got destroyed. Here is a thought….was he in two places at the same time? Here in Topsider land and Eden. Seems interesting they kept his name on the door of his place…..
It also helps explain Ravenscroft’s obsession with the “ghost” on the beach. He knew what or who it was. But why not have a more conventional communication route with this lab?
Ok, this explains the goggles and gloves, but what exactly does the comic represent? Was it really a comic from this reality, or a cast list in the anthro’s?
Since I went back to look at the story of Sparkplug Sanders, I have a new question. He did something to himself that made him impervious to Amesworth radiation, and possibly also to the “dimensional body merge” that makes anthros and monsters. What was that change? As far as I know, his apparatus was never discovered after Sparkplug tested it on himself. It was in a closet and presumably destroyed when everything went to heck. Hmmm. I guess that’s a moot point since he’s part of the Endtown reality that is being devoured.
“You’ve seen the effects first hand on Doctor Amesworth. Inter-reality physics chisel away at everyone’s sanity over time, some worse than others.”
Hmmm, interesting. That explains Ravenscroft. So how sane is Doctor Amesworth at this point? Is she starting to fray around the edges a little? I was thinking it was just simple stress, but it’s not so simple. For all their sakes she needs to hold it together a little while longer.
I came across this interview with Mr Neathery maybe you will find it an interesting reading like I did https://webcomicsinterviews.com/2016/10/03/aaron-neathery-interview/

And then reality ate him. And it wasn’t pretty. Poor guy.

Whoa. So Ravenscroft (who was already “anthro”) got mixed again? Didn’t know that was possible. Are realities now pancaking into each other?
Or did this only happen because he himself was fiddling with inter-reality travel?
Either way, brilliant plot twist.

Questions, always questions.

And from the last panel, we see where Ravenscroft got the goggles and gloves!

Well, now we know where his goggles came from…

I gotta feeling all this is out of sequence. Kind of like River Song. So Amesworth is with it now but she may not be later due to some… Thing.

just dropping in as I do from time to time. Seeing the name Veichmann has me wondering if it’s a spoof of the Nazi Eichmann or Ghostbuster’s Venkmann?
