You’re going to get mosquitos without netting.

If that’s the bear guy who’s camping, did he steal his own picanic basket?

A motel for this plugger is a REAL motel (Motel 6, Quality Inn, etc) thank you very much! I don’t care much for outdoorsy things.

Sorry but the closest this pluggers going to get to roughing it is a Motel 6.

Maybe it’s the perspective but I worry the plugger will find that backing out of the tent tomorrow will meet some resistance.

In Sweden you can even camp on privately owned land and harvest wild growing plants and fruits. Thanks to a tradition called Allemansrätten (“every man’s right”), anyone is allowed to forage for wild foods and flowers (excepting those that are protected by law), as long as nothing is disturbed or destroyed.

A former minister at my church once said, “My wife’s idea of roughing it was sleeping on the floor of a Holiday Inn!” ;-)

My mind is willing my back has reservations. Reservations with a hotel that has a king pillow top mattress.

We used to go tent camping in our younger years, but have not done so in the last 30+ years. I think that this Plugger would rather stay at a motel or hotel. I don’t believe that I would even go with a top-notch motor home at this point.

I don’t think that he is going to have any back problems from sleeping in that tent, as he is all legs and no body.

We used to camp in a tent, graduated to a tent-trailer for many years then moved up to a Class A RV. Given the amount of work needed for set up and tear down of all three, I think I preferred the tent. (just levelling the RV was a bigger pain than setting up a tent)

I still have my dad’s WWII era pup tent. The last time I used it was on a Scout adult leader campout where I shared it with the only other woman there (1990 or so). We had lots of fun the morning we left when we had a lizard visitor who decided that he wanted to stay in the tent permanently. No matter how many times we tossed him out, he ran right back inside. We finally took him to the other side of the campground to release him and got that tent rolled up.

When I take a solo roadtrip, I use the back of my wagon. I put the back seat down and can stretch out with the tailgate closed. When I wake up I pop the tailgate and am ready to go.
