I told my kids from the time they were teenagers, it’s fine with me if you’re gay, I’m good if you want to marry any race, religion, or whatever else you can come up with, but bring home a Republican and you’re out of the will. And, I never asked political questions on the first date. I asked anyone who acted interested, so if there was a first date, I already knew.

That’s it dude. Hit all the faux Pas stuff right out of the gate. If she hangs around she is more desperate than you are and you have a chance. If not, just drink your coffee and go home to watch TV. Again!

I can see why he has a lot of “first” dates

I think everyone has requirements for a person who they would seriously consider for any kind of long term relationship. Usually it is that they be reasonably attractive, or have an acceptable level of education, or whatever. I think it is reasonable to have a lot of first dates. There is no such thing as desperate, single is not inferior to married to whatever you can get.

That’s a second date question to see if there will be a third….
