I had spine surgery back in September (c3-t1). On my second night, I slid down while trying to adjust. I was wearing my neck brace and was in a LOT of pain. I couldn’t scoot back up, turn onto my back, nothing. I was literally stuck. I had to call for a nurse. It was then that I understood what a turtle on its back felt like. It was WORK!
Heck, I don’t know how babies don’t straight-up die, when I listen to their snuffly breathing. And even mother’s milk makes them barf. Of course they need their sleep. Hopefully they’ll know how to walk and talk by the time they wake up.
The baby giant panda cub at the National Zoo (https://nationalzoo.si.edu/webcams/panda-cam) acts the same way. He sleeps most of the time and when he’s awake he’s moving his legs trying to figure out how to crawl.

They are doing an immense amount of work, it is just on inside where you can’t see!
And they do most of that while sleeping!

She is doing a LOT of growing, a LOT of learning, and a body to figure out…all that is exhausting.

Growing is exhausting work. I mean really, it takes a lot of effort to make your legs 1/4 of a inch longer a week?

She eats, poops, wee wees and grows nonstop 24/7. You would too. Oh wait. You did. That explains why you don’t remember.
