Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Our cat refuses to eat “off brand” kibble until she gets really hungry. And “off brand” is defined as “not exactly what I got yesterday”. The two times we had to change her diet, it took about 10 days before the new thing became the only possible acceptable thing.
She does like a variety of gooshy food though, as long as it isn’t fish. Or any texture except “mush”.
I buy three flavors of dry dog food, and rotate them. I wouldn’t want to eat the same thing for ever, and it doesn’t cost any more to buy three different kinds than three bags of the same stuff.
Our cat likes his dry food just fine and in fact will come and pester us if the bowl gets low, even if he’s not interested in eating at the moment. He supplements the dry food with an occasional bird or rat, but kindly leaves us the viscera in case we’re hungry. He deposits those under the dining room table sometimes.
We used to have first one cat then had another, husband decided to change cat food, big mistake as neither cat would eat it, so I had to get the one they liked and mix the one he bought so they eat, I did tell husband not to again, and then we have 3 goldens, 2 of the 3 no issue on dog food except for one that got bored and would not eat, so human daddy bought a different flavor and now that one dog will eat. Dogs and cats can get tired of the same brand or flavor.

Sorry Roscoe you live with Earl And Opal not at the Ritz-Carlton.

That’s why dogs bark at squirrels. They are trying to give you a hint about what flavor dog food they want you to buy.

My dog gets the same food every day, he eats it so fast I do not think it matters to him!

Roscoe looks well fed so it can’t be too bad!

I see this place is not going to get a good yelp review from him!

But the thing is that you eat it every day, don’t you, Roscoe?

Roscoe, you are at a restaurant where the house orders for you.

Reminds me of the old Far Side cartoon where two dogs are eagerly awaiting dinner.
“Oh boy, it’s dog food again!”

At least it isn’t McDonald’s or KFC. Roscoe is getting better nutritional value in his meal.

Well, the real trick is to find the hidden pill and spit it out next to the bowl.

Roscoe appears to be doing just fine on his current diet. Fat doggie.

An even better last panel, he scarfs it down and thinks “What the heck?” which is what REAL dogs do.

Pets are finicky….they ARE part of the family, ya know….treat them good! WOOF

Roscoe, read the 25 lb bag. Sorry.
mistercatworks over 4 years ago
Finicky is not really dog thing. A dog would eat its own foot if it wasn’t so painful.

You know, I think I could envision Charlie Brown’s dog, Snoopy saying that.

Poor wee thing. Give him a treat. He’s such a sweet boy
