What a difference a (time of) day makes.

That just about sums it up. Drag everything out, get comfortable, the wife gets cold, then head back inside.

Yesterday’s high amazingly got up to 50 F. It was so nice. A rare, one last chance to rake up the late falling leaves. They even said you should water your lawn, Yeah right, HA. Hosed drained and stored away weeks ago.

All week, the last bits of snow finally melted. (Snowed in October and early November, UGH). Usually our first snow fall is after Thanksgiving. Today’s high only in 30s : (

No snow in next week’s forecast. YIPEE

Yep, typical fall weather.

Got all the good out of autumn quickly. Fast mover!!

My hunting time yesterday from 3:00-4:15PM wonderfully sunny and warm. Then 4:37PM official sunset and the next 30 minutes you feel the chill just roll on in. Finally felt good to move to shake the chill off me.

A bottle of wine and a pas de deux by the fireside …

Has anybody figured roughly where Arlo and Janis live? The kids seem to live on the Gulf Coast of the US, judging by an alligator once depicted in a vision of land they wanted to clear, and A&J live close enough to visit with minimal preparation.

Here in Ohio we are expecting our first snowstorm with multiple inches in two days.

growing up at the beach in RI, it could be 80 during the day, and drop down to 40’s at night….spent summers in sleeping bag in tent in backyard

Our new place has a great gazebo, but I have to get a heater installed.

Ahh, New England weather… where you run the A/C during the day time and the Heat at night…

The temperature difference between being in the sun and being in the shade during Fall is stark.

It’s quality, not quantity. Better get a heavier coat….

All that stuff Janis was enjoying can be had from the warm side of a window.

I hear ya Jimmy! We’re a little farther east in the Central than you. Sunset today is 4:36pm.

But you are right. Our Southern sun is a blessing in the winter months. If the wind isn’t blowing and the sun is out, the days can be quite pleasant.

5:38 PM? Where I live (northeastern New England, USA), It is pitch dark at 4:15 PM!

Outdoor dining or not?

No way to do that where I live alone. And we have a chill all day this week.

We are pretty far west in Central, so sunset is 4:58, and further south than Boston, so we have 9 hours and 28 minutes of sun today.

We also have 38F and windy, so no sitting outside.

There are perfect moments – we just have to notice them before they pass, then appreciate them once they have without losing our ability to notice the next.

It does get cold fast.

Yup! It’s that Time of the year

Light until 5:30? I’d take it. Here in Wisconsin, it’s gets dark at 4:30 this time of year.
