Waking up at 3:00 AM is a nightly thing for me. If I have a hard time getting back to sleep, or think I will, I will sit in my easy chair and watch TV. Usually I am asleep about 15 minutes into the program. I actually tend to sleep better in my chair than I do in my bed.
My cat never sleeps at 3am. He runs through the house crashing into everything, knocking over plants and clawing the furniture. I never get to sleep at 3am.
When I die, I want to come back as a house cat – eat nap nap nap nap lunch chase the toy nap nap nap dinner chase the toy nap nap nap, then bedtima 2am – run across my humans bed two or three times, then back to bed.

I can see a parallel with Corporal Mittens and Garfield. Not unusual given they are both felines.

Of course 3 AM is his jogging time.

Cats really only want 4 things: Food, sleep, change in location, or stimulation/excitement.
