Christmas eve-eve… sounds like a day to take slices of fruitcake and put them in the toaster. Nice and hot… with something hot to drink! And patiently wait for Christmas to be over.
Christmas Eve Eve is also mentioned in today’s Red and Rover. This is a more conventional strip than Garfield as it features a dog rather than a cat but hasn’t been as successful as Garfield or my own favourite strip from which I take my username.
For me and my wife, today is our annual inside joke. Over 30 years ago, in our first apartment, on December 23rd, we heard our landlord (in the apartment upstairs) lose his temper and yell at his kids, “Leave me alone! It’s two days to f**king Christmas!” Every December 23rd since then has carried that label for us.

My husband & daughters are feeling the “Eve-eve”. He’s taking the week between Christmas & New Year’s off, and (of course) my girls have school break.
