Even if you cough slightly heads will whip around in today’s world.
I have a bit of a dust allergy but have learned to carry cough drops when shopping. Nobody can do or say anything to me or others when they hear coughing or throat clearing but at least I can ease any unnecessary anxiety.
OK, what’s with this two people going shopping? It’s safer for everybody if one person is delegated with the shopping. Where I live, there’s a restriction on how many people can occupy a retail outlet at once, and the second redundant shopper takes up one of those slots that another person could productively use. And finally folks, could we get organized and make lists and then get in and out as quickly as possible? While you’re hemming and hawing in front of some items, and I’m doing what we’re supposed to do, physical distancing, you’re blocking the entire process, while I’m thinking of others by organizing my list beforehand so I have as little impact on others as possible.
Carry extra masks (I have exta paper and cloth masks in my car) leave your mask on, sneeze with the mask on into your arm/elbow joint and go to your car and replace your mask with one of the extra masks you carry as spares. Duh!
On multiple occasions, I have been in public where a person has taken his/her mask off to sneeze or cough (and not used their elbow). My presumption is that they would rather put other people at risk then sully their mask.
I sneeze every time I walk outside into bright sunlight. It’s an actual medical condition called Photic Sneeze Reflex or Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helio-Ophthalmic Outburst (ACHOO) syndrome. At least I am outside

Hey, what’s the matter? Your elbow isn’t big enough for your schnoz?

Best way to clear out an area, start coughing.
Also, always keep extra masks on you or in the car. For me the mask fibers start to break away and tickle. Drive me nuts.

There is no good option. Men don’t carry handkerchiefs anymore.

Thanks, Arlo, for your good example. Wearing masks saves lives.

At least take a time out to clear or change your mask so you don’t rub your nose in it.
bryan42 about 4 years ago
With a nose like Arlo’s I bet his sneezes are epic. But then mine have registered on seismographs and my nose is no larger than average.

I didn’t think a sneeze was part of the covid symptoms.
