How does Marigold know about teenagers?

I have two. Marigold has reason to be concerned.

Exactly what I think about teenagers.

Yup, upper elementary. Told ya so.

Human childhoods are one of the longest in the animal kingdom. It really becomes apparent when you bring home a kitten for your toddler and within a couple of years that kitten is now a young adult and your toddler is just entering pre-k or kindergarten.

Fortunately the author has no intention of letting Phoebe actually age.

Marigold does get older. She just doesn’t age.

I totally agree with Marigold.

How much time has passed in universe since Marigold and Phoebe first met?

Don’t sweat it, Phoebster. The Keanes and Flagstons haven’t aged a day in 60 years.

I shudder to think about unicorn teenagers, hopefully that will not happen for Infernus for quite a while. I do believe that all Goblins remain teenagers.

This made me think of my mom.

On the plus side, I think Phoebe will be relatively cool as an adolescent, though she will be struggling with the usual hormonal-emotional nonsense.

Marigold has been educating herself on the stages of being human and the teenager is the worst. Boorish, arrogant, wanting to be free and yet not old enough yet to be their own caretaker. It is a hard time for them too.

A few years of Comic Book Time, of course. Has Phoebe officially aged at all yet in the (Holy crap!) 8 and a half years that this strip has been running?

No. No, she won’t. And that would be frightening, if she even noticed that she never had birthdays. But for some reason she doesn’t.

She’s not going to be if this endless time loop keeps going.
