At one time they thought to pass a law to have seat belts on motorcycles. Luckily… it didn’t go through.
Also didn’t go through… seat belts on school buses. The argument against was safety on a different level. With all the peer pressure and bullying in a normal school… those seat belts would quickly become weapons. Children would get hurt very badly… or killed. School officials still argued… until someone pointed out the expense of replacing the vandalized equipment that would have strangled a student. Money Talks… the idea was scraped.
Was involved in a one car front end collision (a little vague on the details, there was a BANG and then I’m sitting there blinking with the deflated air bag in my lap and someone leaning in the window asking if I was okay). The only injury I had was a small cut on my left hand from the air bag deploying…I believe I had a death grip on the steering wheel.

Safety belts on a “wheel” may need re-thinking. They only pin your feet to the axle on the way to the scene of the accident.

How does one buckle to a wheel? Shouldn’t he have buckled to the airplane?

You should check out Mike Rowe’s (from “Dirty Jobs”) suggestion of thinking “Safety Third” (instead of “Safety First”).

If he had taken off properly he could of been a bird with pink fuzzy feet.

This has something to do with “lift”, I think. You need more of it.

Question – What’s he buckled to? I don’t see anything in the first panel.

Unexpected, that. On the other hand, he was a heart beat away from inventing the flying car.

“ Safety Kills”- isn’t that the slogan for the anti-maskers?

Sometimes it’s the little things that mess up a good idea.

In this case, speed would have been a good friend, along with ditching the stone wheel of course……

Got to tuck that wheel up into the skirt to reduce drag

Interesting story…..Harrison Ford got the scar he has on his chin because he wrecked his car trying to put the seat belt on.

In a way, safety rules are usually written in blood, and sometimes with a life.
