The “really from Vidalia” Vidalia onions are sweet enough to eat raw (at least I think so). I usually slice them instead of just biting in.

I never liked onions as a kid. These days I use them in most dishes. When I’m not using garlic.

There’s an old law on the books – in Nebraska, I believe – that says it’s illegal to eat an onion in public.

I read somewhere that onions were called the apple of life.

I like onions but my older sister would eat onions like apples just because she REALLY liked them or she was just weird. However, today at 81, the answer is she is just weird……

When my husband was alive he had an onion allergy. It is bad because onions are used in almost every dish. When we were in college next to Vidalia, GA, we had to watch out for May because that was onion festival time. Too much onion in the air could give him trouble.

If you hold your nose and cover your eyes while taking a bite, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between an apple and a raw onion.
