What was Daniel doing kicking the safe? Taking out his anger of not getting the right combination?

Buttermilk is the liquid left over after churning out the butter.

However, some of the communion bread got away due to lack of gravity, and everyone was sad. Believe It Or Not.

The buttermilk you buy in the supermarket is arguably not “real” buttermilk.

Traditional buttermilk, the liquid left over from churning butter, had a distinct tangy flavor because naturally-present bacteria were allowed to ferment the milk before churning. (Apparently, turning lactose into lactic acid helped separate the milkfat from the protein.)

From what I can tell, modern commercial butter, “sweet cream butter”, is made from unfermented milk. The “cultured buttermilk” sold in stores is made by adding specific bacteria to low-fat or whole milk to simulate the flavor of traditional buttermilk.

Yes, and pineapples have nothing to do with pine trees or apples.

Take care, may Swedish catfish net manufacturer Sjebord be with you, and gesundheit.

Buttermilk is what is left over after the process of making butter just as whey is left over from making cheese.

Jack Daniel must’ve had disgustingly dirty feet. Too busy distilling booze to bathe, apparently. There has to be a moral imperative in here somewhere…

Even today just the thought of buttermilk creeps me out. I had to drink it in lieu of a penicillin shot (never could figure out why). It turned my stomach—literally.

How did they eat it on the moon? Wouldn’t their hand (or fork) just bonk the helmet?

Should we believe Mr. Graziano, or Wikipedia? Not sure. But the Jack Daniel story is questionable. From Wikipedia: Daniel died from blood poisoning in Lynchburg on October 9, 1911.1 An oft-told tall tale is that the infection began in one of his toes, which Daniel injured one morning at work by kicking his safe in anger when he could not get it open (he was said to always have had trouble remembering the combination).9 However, Daniel’s modern biographer has asserted that the story is not true, offering evidence that Daniel raged on the safe a few years before dying of unrelated gangrene.12
