I’m thinking he might be saying that the Democratic party has finally revealed the Republican party for what they really are. An emperor with no clothes.
I think perhaps the artist should have used a small d, i.e., “democratic leadership”, which would have been questioning just how much of a democracy we have at this point. This is a valid question given the track record of the Republican leadership in the US.
America has touted itself as the leader of the democracies in the world. The last week has blown that claim away. It has nothing to do with the Dem party.
