A long time ago, there was a detective noir story that I enjoyed BECAUSE it had a description of the detective’s thought process: “Lessee now, did I file my lunch under ‘S’ for sandwich, or ‘B’ for bologna?”
Try the top of your dresser and also check your dresser drawers. Or if you have a jewelry case try looking there. Or think of what you did the day before and did you have it then or did you take it off for some reason.
All of our receipts go in the envelope for the month they were purchase and the folder of the method they were purchased. I can find the receipt for anything we purchase for at least 7 years back. Usually a receipt is never needed again, but once in a while, when needed I can find it in within minutes. And if you wonder how I would know which envelope to look in? It’s simple. I just do a quick search for that item in my book keeping program on the computer. Yep that’s right. Computers can be used for a lot more than looking at cat videos or reading comics.
Had a very vivid dream that I found something that I had been looking for. I was so thrilled that I woke up right away with my hand clenched… on nothing.
This is me. I do it all of the time and then spend hours searching for it. I also hate when you continue see an item that you rarely use, but when you suddenly need it the item has disappeared.

Never put anything you want to find in a safe place!!

Always start looking for something that is “important” in the last place – first!! That usually works!!

The quickest way to find something is to look for something else.
