Let’s see. I have a wide variety of Christmas decorations, an American flag for Memorial Day and The Fourth Of July, as well as decorations for Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. All of these are displayed 24/7.
I was going to take down the lawn ornaments after 12th Night but then we got 30 inches of snow followed by another 10 inches. The snow finally melted enough for me to take them down. For a first, however, the wife and I decided to leave the lights up year round. But she won’t let me turn them on to brighten things up ….
This year, I have seen numerous homes in my neighborhood (mine, included), that have left exterior Christmas lights up, and lit, at night. I am simply speculating, but, if those people are thinking as I am, these lights still bring a modicum of joy to some people, which so many have needed, given this past year.
Bob has a collar. Why not walk Bob sometime? Bob is a sensitive guy. I think that he senses, rightly or not, that Wally is loved more than Bob is. Bob needs love too. Yup. “Attention must be paid.” We don’t want Bob to get depressed, do we? Certainly not!! He is part of the family!!
I thought I put away all of the Christmas decorations this year – outside lights and decorations – check, tree and living room decorations – check, front hall, dining room and kitchen decorations – check.
A couple of decades ago the teddy bear decorations were taking over our big tree and I used the top of our old to make a small Christmas tree in our upstairs hall to move some of the bear ornaments to. As we went along an entire small village of bears grew up around the small tree – we call it “Teddy Village”. (Think expensive Christmas village done cheaply and populated by bear figurines.) We hated to take it down every year so the Christmas festival became the winter festival and then it hit us, we could rearrange bears seasonally and the village could stay up all year. So the Christmas bears from the village were packed away this year and the non-Christmas Winter bears were left out for the rest of the winter. I went into the Teddys room (aka our spare bedroom) a week or so ago where my other bears and their friends live and most “not in use for this season” village bears and items are stored and came across a small open carton labeled “Non village Christmas bears”.
I am aging, but this confused me – then I turned around and saw one of the shelves that bears are displayed on – OH NO! Mid March and there are Christmas bears still out on display! Now I have to pack them away and store the box. Something Christmas is always forgotten.

For a guy who knows he is in a comic strip, Norm is rather clueless.

Nothing unique about that. A LOT of people never take their Christmas lights down. The Santa flag, on the other hand…

Am I wrong, It’s a deja vu or I have seen this strip 2 or 3 weeks ago even if there is a 3-3-21 reference ? I’m too lazy to stroll back.

Seriously, there’s a house in my son’s neighborhood that still has the halloween decorations on their front porch.
At least I hope those life-size skeletons sitting in lawn chairs are fake….

Monstrous woman can certainly take them down, being as she stays home all day while he works….
