Not to be petty, but who says a Tiger wouldnāt enjoy a giant ball of yarn? However, I own dogs, so I donāt have any meat on that barbeque. Nice kitty.
I agree with the research that decided they werenāt ātigersā based on evidence they were significantly different from tigers and more of their own thing, belonging to the overall category of cats. Iām old enough to see many things renamed because of this kind of research. Iām fine with it, as Iād rather keep learning about how nature works rather than adhere to traditions.
Plus, there is the fact that we drove them extinct, but tigers are still around. Of course, we may have done the same thing we did to wolves, and they are common Siamese house cats.
This is kind of like the status of Pluto as a planet or a dwarf planet. It really just depends on how you define it, regardless of whether your definition is meaningful or not. To be sure in this case, tigers are cats, so Peter and BCās argument is even more pointless.
There are Big Cats, and Small/medium Cats, soā¦Most big cats are members of the genus Panthera. Small and medium cats, including house cats, are members of Felis.
