My German-born dentist in America tells me that in Germany dentists are not considered medical professionals. I suspect that’s a leftover from the days when you got your teeth pulled by a barber between blood-lettings.
Canadian poet Robert Service wrote one witty ballad set in WW1 where a British soldier has cornered a Hun, and decides he will let him go if he’s a father. The Brit asks the Hun if he has any children, and gets the reply “Nein.”
