Glad to see that Earl got the ink out of his mustache!

Earl, what is the secret for getting ink out of your mustache?

But if your cable provider takes away your cable, Netflix, Hulu, etc., what can you do? Internet provider also takes away your Internet.

My parents (and later I) would take a fair amount of time explaining things, but when the questions went around the bend, the answer was:

Because of the inexorableness of the passage of time!

And thereafter, “but why…” questions went ignored.

“…and so you can be proud of the fact that you made the world better than you found it and helped others along the way.”

Or, to put a finer point on it, Netflix!

Nelson we always need a next man up to help pay social security ;-)

Every once in awhile, you have those “What is life all about?” moments or days.

Hopefully more often you realize you are on a journey.

Hopefully even more often, you look to something/someone beyond this life.

After 6 days of reruns, we are back to new Pickles episodes!

Why? Nelson wants to know, that’s why!

and the tv in 30 to 40 years wont be as good as when you were growing up.

No job, then no house, no tv, no cable, no internet. It’s a cruel world Nelson, but hey you just might love your work! :)

Sure fire plan to get rich:

Get a good education.

Find a good job

Work hard.

Inherit money.

Worked for me!

Since I’ve retired, I’ve watched less. In fact, if not for local weather and the occasional college game in the fall I’d give my TV away.

“Nelson, we’re going to have you sleep in the side yard tonight. It’ll help you be prepared for your future as a homeless person.”

Actually, getting an education should be about becoming a good, rational, well-informed citizen, not getting a job… that’s what training is for.

The real reason to get the most out of your Education is that Knowledge is Power over the course of your Life.

What a poor role model

Good plan unless you inherit lots of money and can retire at 10.

Earl has something there, I am retired and between computer and TV my time is occupied!

All of one’s life spirals downward inexorably to TV. Earl has it right and gave in long ago.

I’m retired, in a over 55 community, and can verify the truth of Earl’s comments. So many people here just sit on the couch and watch reality tv. Some much time wasted!

The secret to getting blue ink out of the mustache is….being in a cartoon!

If you’re lucky

So when you do retire you will have enough money to pay for the cable and streaming bills.

Because if you want to eat, you have to work. No one in this family will treat you like a child when you become an adult.

It used to be you could get ahead, didn’t even need to work full-time, didn’t expect to take expensive vacations but you enjoyed your neighborhood, didn’t need to upgrade your gadgets every other year, enjoyed cooking at home and being with your family. Now it takes two incomes to stay even. As a single person with a really good job, I’ve had to struggle just to afford to live alone in something besides a bare apartment. I’m almost 70, still working full-time, driving a 25-year-old car and without spousal Social Security benefits I’d barely be getting by.

Earl’s right. It took me 49 years to watch TV all day.
