Oh dear, I remember getting the lecture.

Put the whole lid down especially if the stool is near the sink; it is all to easy to drop stuff in.

Dang, he looks pretty bitter about it! It only takes a second, dude!

O.K. I clean the ‘appliance’ therefore I SIT to pee.

We divided the household chores at retirement. Turns out my wife is a better negotiator.

I know how to settle this once and for all, EVERYBODY close the lid!!!!!! Period! End of discussion!

It’s both of them in my house. It helps to keep the cats from playing in the water.

Put the lid down every time before flushing keeps urine and feces particles from getting flung into the air from the flushing action….wanna breath piss and poop leave the lid up!

Remember to flush also !

“Pluggers” seem to take on different meanings these days, especially as to toilets.

Common courtesy.

We put the cover down as well. Cats and dogs be like … not impressed.. but toobadsoosad for them. I do not appreciate a wet bum.

It became a habit for me after I had to rescue my first daughter at age three when she fell in when she sat down to go potty. Found her with her elbows on the edge of the bowl.

House Rule – Both seat and cover are put down after use. Everyone has to open and everyone has to close.

We had cats when I was a kid, so I learned to put the seat down at an early age.

We have two bathrooms. Problem solved!

“Look before you leap” is remarkably useful advice.

Ha ha. I never puts the seat down.

Also remember to do your business before you put the seat down.

And the lid, before you flush. Flushing aerosolizes the water and anything in the water, even a few solid particles. Putting the seat and lid down decreases that effect. As was said on Mythbusters, “we all live in a world of poo.”

While leaving theid down on top of the seat does reduce aerosolized waste, the safest advice in any event is to reconnoiter before the engagement commences.

And if he doesn’t know by now, he lives alone.

We had a house of one bride, me and four sons. She said due to youthful aim, she was relieved to find the seat up.

And now we just have to train others to refill the toilet paper holder when they empty it. . .

I have to keep reminding my better half to do this.

To give credit where credit is due, I have to say that my late hubby never EVER even once didn’t put the seat and lid down, day or night. Even when he was sick and pretty much “out of it” mentally in the hospital or nursing home, he always remembered. (And it wasn’t because he had forgotten once and I had a fit – he came already equipped with good manners. I’d hate to give my MIL credit, but she probably deserves it! Or else it’s just another advantage of marrying an “older” (than me) man.)
