As I aged, my memory got better….I found I could remember things that never happened. Now that I am older, my memory has waned. I now seem to forget things I once remembered that never happened.
Asked if he was kind of old to be a detective, Barnaby replied, I always think someone old is a few years older than me. Buddy Ebsen was a great dancer in vaudeville. he lived to be 93. All the great dancers of that era, lived long lives.
“No, it was the time we went to the mall, to rescue your mother and the security guards chased us because they thought we were shoplifters when you accidentally got that clothes hangar caught on your belt. You always get this story wrong.”
I have started to think that I should write my memoirs. So far I’ve just come up with a bunch of little stories that don’t fit together very well. Future generations may have to do without inspiration from me.

It’s sad when a persons mind starts to go. Of course Earls mind left a long time ago.

Opal is wearing the same blouse she always wears, but Earl changed from his usual blue shirt. The colorist must have gotten bored.

Sometimes episodes of TV can become episodes of Life.
… and Better and Safer in the imagination than in reality.

As long as Earl doesn’t confuse Opal with Lee Meriwether…

Well Opal in Earl’s mind a trip to the fabric store may be the same as going to Mexico ;-)

This is silly. How could he get “Barnaby Jones” confused with “Good Times”?

Of all the things he’s lost, Earl misses his mind the most.

Fantasy is sometimes a better choice than reality, especially after such a long period of bad times, like those from the Covid-19 Blues

I always thought they should have called that show “Barnaby Clampett”.

Those stories might not be true, but Earl sure does remember them well.

Better off if most fathers just stay there and work off their ransom. Either that or just walk through our sieve border.
