I wish I had the energy to plant. Differences with my wife about where and what to plant, depression and anxiety have got me too down. But I understand where Janis is coming from. Two day ago I wore a t-shirt and today I had to wear a hoodie here in the Great Pacific Northwest.

Don’t forget that gardening can be done year round! Plant your snow peas and iceberg lettuce after the first snowfall, and harvest at Christmas! At least I thought that would be reasonable, but it never works for me!

Yep, we had a hard freeze last week. According to the weather people average temps should be 75 now. Instead the high temp that day was only 38. My wife covered all the flowers 2 nights in a row as the temps got down to 31 the second night

so keep looking for that bluebird, and listening for his song, whenever April showers come along….

I used to mount [empty] wine bottles on green garden stakes in a bed of corks. Called it the ‘wine garden’, sometimes Rhine Garten’

Finally got some April showers yesterday; outside that is. Our utility closet is torn apart because of a pinhole leak, black mold, etc. Water heater comes out Monday and no hot water until the sheetrock has been replaced and a new water heater installed.

Gotta hand it to Janis. She is always pushing forward. She’ll back up but then push on again.

Janis is dauntless in her pursuit of horticulture!

There are days in the Pacific Northwest where I have to turn the heater on going to the store, and the air conditioner on coming home from the store.

The coldest winter I can recall was a spring in Seattle.

Sigh, gotta get on that.

We had snow last week. This coming week it will be over 80 degrees at least one day. No mountains around, either. It’s sad for the people who thought we had an early spring and did quite a bit of planting of delicate flowers.

For me, it’s dandelions by the gazillion.

I’m surprised. No Madame X comments regarding the shoulder strap dropping.

I am cringing watching how Janis is sitting with her legs in the last panel. My wife destroyed her L 4/5 disc in her back sitting that way at age 33.

The local squirrels are getting very excited as our apricots are ripening. It’ll be a race to see who gets them first.
