My 86 year old neighbor finally opened a piece of âjunkâ mail and discovered he had been throwing away COSCO rebate checks for over a year. His wife who had passed apparently managed the finances. COSCO staff were great, checked their records and cut him new rebate checks to replace all those he had tossed.Lesson: Plugger or no, open all the mail.

Pluggers open all their mail, including junk mail, so that they know what has to be shredded and what can go directly into recycling.

Some Iâll open and read for a good laugh, others go straight into the trash, and some I write âReturn to Sender â Address Unknownâ on them.

First thing I look at is the postmark. If it says âpresort standardâ, itâs junk.
