Last weekend was a bachelor weekend. A wedding shower took the wife and all the local girls out of town. You don’t know what you’ll miss until it’s gone.
My husband walked by and caressed my hair. A friend of our son mentioned on cool that was. He was married shortly after. Hopefully he remembered and does it to his wife. Little touches mean so much.
Arlo and Janis are always wonderful relationship guidelines, but this one reminds us that one of the smaller, caring acts can overcome disagreements. It is a reminder that, in the end, true love conquers marital strife. Remember also, it is hard to be angry with someone for whom you pray. Kudos Mr. Johnson.
The importance of human contact is also shown in infants. Babies who are rarely touched do not develop as do those who are hugged and caressed. In some cases, the lack of contact has also caused “failure to thrive.”
I am sure that the same holds true for seniors, too.
treat your significant other like you would want to be treated…i have always done this whenever i had a guy whom i was dating…some of them like & some of them hated…the guys who hated it…i dumped their sorry asses…
A small touch is not meant to be sexual, it is meant to be loving. None of my friends do this. I thought I was special. But I have so much in common with Jimmy and his work over the years that it tells me I am just ordinary, or maybe he is special! This is why Jimmy gets more ‘Likes’ than any other comic here.
Good to see I’m doing it right. i see so many couples walking and they don’t hold hands. I thought holding hands was a sign of love till I found out she was just keepting me from going into every shop and buying stuff. ;_0
Look at all the responses on this one. Awesome.I fell in love with her again, every time she touched me.(I love the writers of this strip. They get it. They understand human relationships)
Today is the 17th, and another day when every comic is yesterday’s. 2nd time in a week. Go comics needs to fix this. Why does this happen? Who’s in charge here?

That’s me all over. Except that in panel 2 I’m the one that winds up holding the popcorn!

Once they are gone at least you will have the rememberies. Boy, the auto correct doesn’t like that word.

If the only times you touch her are sexual, you’re doing life wrong.

A gentle caress as you pass by
And your love for each other will never die.

I do that all the time plus saying thank you for things like making dinner and doing the laundry go a long way also

Have you ever seen Janis touch Arlo like that? Not likely.

I realized that it was over when those little touches had become a one way street.

that’s what i miss most about my late husband; the touches, the hugs, the kisses, the “I Love You”s just because!

Now, could they run one with the roles reversed? Give and take, and all that in a truly equal relationship.
